Selfridge Air Show 2000 - "Big Beautiful Doll "
7 / 23 / 00 - The Air Show at Selfridge ANG Base, Clinton Township, MI( formerly " Selfridge Field " ) featured military aircraft from all historical periods including present day.
Noteworthy, was a restored P-51D, accurately marked in the colors of the 78th Fighter Group, 84th Fighter Squadron, representing the aircraft " Big Beautiful Doll ". This was the personal aircraft of Col. John D. Landers( Group CO, February 21, 1945 - July 1, 1945 ). An inquiry was made as to the ownership and home base of this aircraft...nothing to report as of this posting.
